Public health nurses offer a variety of programs to pregnant people and new parents and their babies. Some of the services offered are:

  • Pregnancy Testing: We offer low-cost pregnancy tests in our office.

  • Badgercare Express Enrollment: If you are pregnant and do not have adequate health insurance, a public health nurse will help you through the Badgercare Express Enrollment process. This is temporary, prenatal coverage available depending on your income.
  • Healthy Families in Pregnancy*: A public health nurse will meet with you in your home or our office to provide education, help you prepare for the birth of your baby, and provide education and resources to improve the health of your baby.
  • New Parent/Baby Visits*: After your baby is born, a public health nurse will meet with you in your home or our office.  The nurse will conduct screenings and referrals to address topics such as postpartum depression, development delays, and provide information and guidance on a wide range of topics including; breastfeeding, safe sleep, injury prevention, immunization, and nutrition.

*This service is only available to people living in Outagamie County, outside the city of Appleton.
