Environmental Education Activities for Students
Mosquito Hill Nature Center offers environmental education experiences for any grade level. The length of field trip varies, based on grade level and topic, and ranges from one to four hours. Your outing will be led by our staff of professional and volunteer naturalists. Groups may take advantage of pre-planned seasonal programs correlated to Next Generation Science Standards, or work with our education staff to customize a program to meet your specific needs. To schedule a field trip, please contact us by calling 920-779-6433 or e-mail us.
Before your field trip, you will receive an email confirming details of your visit. We'll also include some tips for preparing for your visit, how to dress comfortably, and suggestions for packing a low-waste or no-waste lunch.
If your group is eating lunch here, our staff will lead students through an age-appropriate, after-lunch recycling activity. We are aware that some students will bring a bag lunch packed at school, and therefore have little control over the content of those lunches. In those cases, we use this time to help students identify the materials in their lunches (food scraps, plastic, paper, etc.), and whether they can be recycled or go in the trash.
We hope you will help us with this effort and possibly integrate low-waste lunch activities into your curriculum or everyday procedures at school.
