Spread the word: the 2020 Census is Easy, Safe and Important

It’s Easy!  For the first time, people will have the option of responding to the census online.  For those not computer savvy, they can respond via telephone or mail.  The best way to avoid having a census worker follow up in person at your doorstep, is to respond after receiving the postcard invitation from the U.S. Census Bureau early this year.

It’s Safe!  Your answers to the questions on the census survey are safe, secure and protected by federal law.  The information you provide is confidential and can only be used for statistical purposes and cannot be used against you by any government agency or in a court of law.

It’s Important!  Census data is used in a variety of important ways such as determining where billions of federal resources are directed for things like clinics, hospitals, schools and roads.  It’s also used to redraw legislative districts and determine how many representatives each state has in the U.S. House.
