1974        Outagamie County Department of Solid Waste established.

1975        West Landfill opens.

1979        62 Acre west landfill site completed.

1984        Landfill Gas Recovery System operational.
                94 acre East Landfill expansion.
                Special Waste Policy program begins.
                Household Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep begins.

1986        Site expansion now encompasses 300 acres.

                Landfill Gas Co-Generation system is operational.

                Material Recovery Facility (MRF) opens (recyclables).

1994        Utilization of waste glass in road projects begins.
                Paper sorting line installed at MRF.

1996        Warehouse addition to MRF to store baled recyclables.

2003        Tri-County Regional Operation begins.

2005        Transfer Station opens (trash).
                 Gas to Energy system implemented.

2006        Computer and Florescent Bulb recycling begins.

2007        Pharmaceutical collection established.

2008        Concrete recycling begins.
                Agriculture plastic recycling pilot program.
                Ballast Recycling begins.

2009        Tri-County Single-Stream Recycling Facility opens.

2010        Permanent drug drop boxes established in Appleton and Seymour.
                Electronics Recycling becomes state law.
                Permanent HHW collection established.

2011        Waste Oil Filters and Absorbent recycling becomes state law.     

2012        Tri-County Regional Landfill operations shift to Outagamie County's Northeast Landfill.
2013       Mattress & Box spring recycling 1 year pilot.
