Natural Areas
Mosquito Hill Nature Center – 430 acres, east of New London on County Highway S. Natural area set aside for the study of nature. Activities offered include guided hikes, nature programs, and public events. Interpretive building is open to the public on Saturdays & Sundays from 10:00 to 3:00, and 8:00 to 4:30 on weekdays (Closed Mondays).
View Ridge Natural Area – 34 acres used for hiking, bird watching, no facilities. East of New London.
Parks & Dog Park
Plamann Park – 257 acres, north of Appleton on Broadway Drive, swimming lake, playgrounds, picnic shelters, 27 hole disc golf course, Children’s Farm, hiking trails, sledding hill, ski trails, snowmobile trails and a warming shelter.
Outagamie County Pet Exercise Area – The "Dog Park" is located at the corner of French Road and “OO”. 17 acre site that is fenced in for the purpose of exercising your dog without the use of a leash. A 4.7 acre "winter park" is open in the winter.
Barker Park – 27 acres, west of Shiocton on Old 54 Road. Picnic areas with a boat ramp for access to the Wolf River.
Trails & Wooded Areas
Wiouwash State Trail – Multipurpose trail, south of Hortonville, 5.9 mile gravel trail that connects to 20 additional miles in Winnebago County. Parking areas in Hortonville and Medina. Activities include hiking, biking and horseback riding. No motorized vehicles except snowmobiles in the winter.
Newton Blackmour State Trail - Currently open between Seymour and Black Creek. Will eventually be extended to Shiocton and New London.
CE Trail – Located on the north side of County Highway CE, Multipurpose trail, 5.3 miles, paved trail from Appleton to Kaukauna. No motorized vehicles.
Stone Bridge Trail – Located west of Brewster Village, paved trail winds through a wooded area and connects to a network of trails in the Town of Grand Chute.
Old Stone Bridge Wooded Area - Wooded green space with the Stone Bridge Trail running through the property. Located north of Brewster Village and south of Fox Valley Technical College. West of Bluemound Road.
County Forest - Located south of Highway 15 and east of Casaloma Drive. Wooded natural area, some trails, good area for bird watching and hiking.
River Access
Barker Park – 27 acres, west of Shiocton on Old 54 Road. Picnic areas with a boat ramp for access to the Wolf River.
Buchman Access – 2 acres, north of Hortonville on County Road M. Boating access to the Wolf River with a small picnic area.
Koepke Access – 5.45 acres, boating access to the Wolf River with a small picnic area.
Stephensville Access – 1.1 acres on the north side County Highway S. Boating access to the Wolf River.
Wolf River Shoreline Fishing Area / Stephensville – 1 acre located west of Stephensville and south of Highway S. Handicap fishing platform and small parking area.
Wolf River Shoreline Fishing Area / New London – 2 acres located south of New London on the Highway 45 by-pass. Handicap fishing platform and small parking area.
