Thanks to this years sponsor, Northern Lites Snowshoes, we will be giving away one free pair of Northern Lites Elite snowshoes. All race participants will be entered to win. Snowshoes will be awarded during the awards ceremony.
Representatives from Northern Lites and Snowshoe Gear will be on hand at the snowshoe race with snowshoes (for demos) and a variety of snowshoe gear to purchase.

Entry Fees
Fees include refreshments, a chili lunch, a Mosquito Hill goodie bag, a race logo long-sleeved t-shirt, a chance to win a pair of Northern Lites Elite snowshoes, a chance to win a pair of snowshoe poles from Snowshoe Gear, prizes to top finishers and admission to the Winter Family Fun Festival at 12:00 PM. Entry fees are non-refundable. T-shirt availability is only guaranteed to preregistered race participants. One shirt/racer. In the event of poor snow/trail conditions, a foot race will be held instead.
Trail Conditions as of 1/17/2013: Snowshoe trail conditions are not ideal, but currently have about 2 inches of hard, packed snow. Several of the trails have exposed roots or ice in areas but are passable. We are still planning to conduct the race and encourage racers to use snowshoes with crampons. Another trail condition update will be posted next week.
Trail Conditions As Of 1/22/2013: Snowshoe conditions remain the same. At this point, we are encouraging racers to wear snowshoes with crampons or race on foot using a removable ice-traction device such as Yaktrax. Snow is in the forecast for Friday so another trail condition will be posted on Friday.
Trail Conditions as of 1/25/2013: We received less than 2 inches of light, powdery snow today, which did not change trail conditions much. We will allow racers to wear snowshes with crampons or shoes/boots with ice-traction devices for the race. Large stretches of ice have been flagged on the trails, to the best of our ability. Please be advised that there will be exposed roots and smaller areas of ice to watch for.
