If you are age 18 or over, Brewster Village is required to do a caregiver background check. Please download, print, and complete the background check form and submit this form with your volunteer application.
Help keep our bird aviaries clean by washing the windows, cleaning the bottom, changing the water/food, giving snacks, bathing birds, etc.
Assist our business office staff with general office duties such as assembling admission packets, alphabetizing pay stubs, copying, stuffing envelopes, etc.
Keep Library and Card Cart Organized
Take cart around to each household so villagers can select a video, book, or magazine.
Duties may include answering phone, greet new Villagers, greet visitors and guests, assist in directing visitors to their loved one's room, serve as a phone contact to provide assistance to get in from parking lot, etc.
Operate cafe to serve snacks to villagers and staff daily. Volunteer would be responsible to work with business office to obtain money, make change, keep cafe and Town Center clean.
Volunteer will be matched with Villagers to provide companionship. Opportunities of a 1:1 visit include but are not limited to: manicures, hand massages (hand oils, lotions, etc), mending and sewing clothing, shopping, spiritual, reading, letter or email writing, accompany to our clubhouse, play the Wii, pet therapy, going for walks (indoor/outdoor) going to a movie, etc.
Assist our staff in holding life enrichment activities on households or building wide or independently host an activity for our Villagers. Some activities we currently host include arts and crafts, exercise, card games, card groups, cooking and baking, football parties, F.U.N. Day events, board games, gardening, movies, outings, puzzles, shopping, social groups, happy hour, and special events.
Share your talents with our Villagers by holding an activity. This may include but is not limited to dancing, hobby discussions, singing, storytelling, book reviews, play musical instruments, performing skits, sing-alongs, show movies, talent show, etc.
Assist with spiritual activities such as Bible study, playing piano, assisting during services, or assist in transportation to/from spiritual services.
Assist staff with household duties such as laundry, pass clean linens, take garbage out, take soiled linens to linen room, organize cupboards/closets (activity and supply closets), help Villagers clean out their closets.
Assist Villagers in getting to and from activities, beauty/barber shop, spiritual services, therapy, town center, etc.
